Few remarks made by
Kamal Haasan in his recent interview to a tabloid didn't go down well with the
actor's first wife Vani Ganapathy. Kamal claimed he lost all the money he
earned due to alimony settlements with Vani just when Shruti Haasan was born,
moved to a rented house and had to start afresh with zero bank balance.
In response, Vani Ganpathy questioned if the alimony settlement in India make a
man bankrupt or if it ever helps a woman settle down comfortably. She said
Kamal don't even own a house then and they had lived in two rented apartments
after the marriage (1978-88). She even revealed Kamal wasn't bankrupt at that
time to her knowledge and even if he was, there could be other reasons behind
it.
Vani Ganpathy alleged Kamal Haasan is the kind of person who is always looks at
someone to throw the blame. Stating that she still maintains health relations
with Kamal's brother Charu Haasan's Family, She revealed even Kamal's family is
upset with his remarks in the interview.
