Even before the release of his debut movie, Akhil has created a sensation thanks to the pre-release business of the film. ‘Manam’ is the only film of the Akkineni clan that has grossed Rs 40 crore in their history.
While Nag currently has a market as a hero from Rs 10 to Rs 20 crore, Naga Chaithanya’s market is around Rs 5 to Rs 15 crore.
But Akhil’s debut movie which is being produced by Nithiin at a budget of Rs 40 crore has already managed to break even, according to industry sources.
Buyers in some areas are shelling out rates on par with a Mahesh Babu or Pawan Kalyan film. While the name of Vinayak definitely is a plus for the movie, it is still difficult to imagine this kind of business for his brand name alone.
This shows the expectations around the entry of Akhil who even before the release of his debut movie has become the most successful hero in the Akkineni clan.
