Maharashtra Government has increased the salary
of nude and semi-nude models who pose for students of fine arts colleges by
three-fold.
Until
now, Nude Models used to be paid just Rs 300 for a full-day session. This has
been hiked to Rs 1,000 per day.
Coming to
Semi-Nude Models, Their pay has been raised to Rs 600 per day from Rs 250.
Those
Models covered from top to bottom will be getting Rs 400 per day, double the
amount they used to receive in the past.
As part
of their curriculum, Fine Arts Students who were into paintings needs to attend
sessions to sketch the life models. Upon considering the complaint from
Colleges that less pay is making things tough for them when it comes to hire
models for such sessions, State Government took the call and this move might
lure models to change their decision.
