Kalakeya seems to be
one of the interesting character from Baahubali. The demonic warlord is played
by Prabhakar of Maryada
Ramanna fame. When he was
called on to the stage at Baahubali audio, he was conversing with anchor Suma
in a peculiarly sounding language. It is said to be Kiliki which was invented
exclusively for the movie. Madhan Karky is the one who invented it. Madhan is
popular Tamil lyricist and dialogue writer. He is son of veteran lyricist
Vairamuthu. In his recent interview Madhan has revealed the details of the
language that he has invented. Kiliki is said to have 750 words with 40 grammar
rules.
The actors interpreted the language with the help
of reference documents provided to them while shooting. Well it is not the
first time filmmakers have experimented with languages. Remember Chantabbayi, Jandhyala
directorial comedy film where Chiranjeevi communicates with Suhasini in ‘Ka’
language. Later in one of Tamil super hits ‘Tamil Padam’ had a
song which has typical words that doesn’t have any literal meaning. The film
was later remade as Sudigaduin
Telugu and it too had a song hardly have any sense and both the
songs turned out to be a hit.
Even in Rajamouli’s hit film Sye there was a song
where lead pair Nithiin and Genelia croons over whatever they come across on
the road. Now he has this new language included in his epic entertainer. Among
many interesting aspects being unfolded about Baahubali,
Kiliki is one of them. Who knows people might end up conversing in this raw
language after the release of the film.
