Shock: Doctor couple did one lakh abortions

It seems that despite all the measures taken by the Govt. Against female foeticide, people have still not learned their lesson. As it so happens, a doctor couple from the Marathwada town of Beed have been found guilty of conducting close to a lakh illegal surgeries. As if this was not enough, they are also guilty of feeding the remains of the foetuses to dogs.

This crime has come to light due to the efforts of an NGO Lek Ladki Abhiyan, who had previously exposed the doctors’ activities in 2010 when that Dr Sudam Munde and Dr Sarawati Munde were convicted in an illegal abortion case and jailed for six years.

The NGO says that the two doctors used to see ninety patients daily and accuses the couple of carrying out almost one lakh abortions in the past twenty five years.
